Hey guys,

Before starting please note I have checked the boot sticky and it does not solve my issue.

My computer has developed a strange issue where it wont power up (motherboard LEDs are on, however it wont attempt to boot - fans wont kick in etc.). However, I have found a way to make it boot and when it finally does it runs perfectly fine for days and weeks on end.

My method is to keep flipping the PSU switch off and on at the speed of light until it boots. The system is set up to boot automatically when power is restored thankfully.

It seems to be some strange State that one of the components (I'm guessing motherbord?) is set to which is telling the system that it's not ready to boot.

Any ideas??

System specs:

Asus Sabertooth X99

Intel 5820k

32gb DDR4 RAM

nVidia 780Ti

Seasonic X1050 PSU

Steps tried so far:

Remove RAM/GPU/HDDs/USB basically everything non-essential

Result: issue still remains

Attempt to try another PSU - unfortunately I only have a very old PSU loaned to me which didnt have an 8pin ATX port. So i at least tried it in the 24 pin and kept my original PSU powering the rest if that helps

Result: issue still remains

Updated motherboard bios to latest version and reset CMOS

Result: issue still remains

Leave the PSU unplugged for 20 minutes to "drain power" completely

Result: issue still remains

The only thing helping is to cycle the power repeatedly which seems to kick my PC into the correct state. This tells me all of my components are working correctly but SOMETHING is telling the system to not boot?
