Ultrawide monitors and productivity

WannaSPOON

I'm curious about the functionality of ultrawide monitors when it comes to multitasking.  I've seen videos where people talk about being able to set up multiple spaces on the display for improved functionality, but I wonder how far it can go.  I run a 2 monitor setup that I really enjoy, but it's kind of annoying to have the space in the middle where the bezels are.  My main concern in switching over is that I often play games while watching movies, browsing  youtube, chatting on skype, etc. on the second monitor.  Is this possible with Ultrawide monitors these days?

Ultrawides, the big ones at least, are pretty much the same size as two 16:9 monitors, just without the bezel. Yes, you can comfortably run two windows beside each other and they will look pretty normal size.

As an ultrawide user: no, not really. That sort of thing is really dual-monitor territory.

I run a 21:9 LG, and a 16:10 Dell Ultrasharp in portrait.  I just find working with forums and data easier with the portrait monitor, where my 21:9's limited height becomes a hindrance.
