No no no do not get that. Looks super sketchy and there's no way to power the card and no enclosure. Look for a gpu dock like the Razer Core or I think Alienware has something like that, they are expensive but they work.

Buy a better laptop and don't even think about getting that. That thing is crazy, it isn't something I'd want to plug into my laptop and it would be inconvenient and you are likely to break your laptop because you have to pull apart your laptop every time you want to start gaming on it. You also need an external screen and other stuff like a PSU. Overall do not get it. It isn't worth it. If you want an external GPU, get a laptop that has a Thunderbolt port and get a Thunderbolt eGPU dock.

Actually it aint that bad, but in your case you´d have to remove the keyboard (i think) to attach the pci. check this video and decide your self

obviously there are drawbacks and problems, but if you´re on a budget and don´t mind modding your laptop this is a totally valid option and if not practical, a fun project to tinker with.

  • 2 years later...

I own a Acer Aspire E5-522G laptop

with A8-7410 APU w/ R5-M335 2gb dedicated VRAM.

Neither in BIOS nor in graphic's drivers, there isn't any option to turn off integrated graphics.

Can I somehow combine and run a gtx1050Ti mini using GDC Laptop External Independent Video Card Dock Mini PCI-E to my laptop??
