Will the ram still work?

So i have ordered all the parts for my build but then someone told me the the RAM is not compatible and that it will be underclocked. But will it still work even if its underclocked?

i can't see anything wrong with that. ddr4 goes to lga 1151. simple as that.

well the mobo says it supports ddr4-2133 memory and mine is 2400

It will work, but run at 2133. At least thats how DDR3 worked. Just wasting money on the higher clocked stuff.

Actually, a lot of times, 2400 MHz RAM costs exactly the same as 2133 MHz even from the same RAM brand, depending on where you are buying it. As a result, you aren't wasting money if there isn't any money being wasted.

 

Technically it's all 2133 MHz RAM. It's just guaranteed to overclock to 2400 MHz with its XMP profile.

It should still work.
