It will work, but run at 2133. At least thats how DDR3 worked. Just wasting money on the higher clocked stuff.

Actually, a lot of times, 2400 MHz RAM costs exactly the same as 2133 MHz even from the same RAM brand, depending on where you are buying it. As a result, you aren't wasting money if there isn't any money being wasted.

 

Technically it's all 2133 MHz RAM. It's just guaranteed to overclock to 2400 MHz with its XMP profile.
