2013 is said to be the year of the comets, with at least two coming close enough to be seen this year (not to be confused with the Russian meteor strike, the second comet, ISON is coming later this year). Comet PANSTARRS has been seen in the southwestern hemisphere by many so far and will be visible in the northern hemisphere very soon!

I hope some of us get to see it. I know I'm going out of my way into the dark just for a sight. Hopefully the comet will become more visible as the next few days pass.

If you are in the northern hemisphere and want to see the comet, after sun set and scan the lower, western horizon (270*). I hope your weather is decent!
