Encrypt HDD

I have 2 SSD's and one HDD in my system, the SSD's are used for boot and "fast storage" and the HDD is used for backup storage/slow storage. I want to encrypt the HDD, so that when im done watching a movie, i drag it over to the HDD and store it. Im also doing this to store games so i wont have to download them every time i format. My problem is finding a good encryption software, because i literally know nothing about it, never used any software like that.

Why do you need to encrypt movies and games?

What OS are you running? If you have a higher end (think pro) version of Windows, you should be able to use Bitlocker, which is built into the OS and should give you the best performance. If you are on linux, you should probably look into dm-crypt.

Im using windows 7, and will propably up/downgrade to windows 10 later this year. It will be used for movies and games, but only watched movies and the games are just there so i dont need to redownload them every time i reformat my ssd. Ill check out bitlocker, but if there is something better, ill rather use that
