Can a 1440p 144hz monitor be good for consoles?

OptimisticRealist

Hi guys, as you know, the new tech

monitors are still very expensive, what I consider to be the sweet spot with a 1070, is:

144hz, 1440p and g sync obv.

prices are AT LEAST $700 for a 27 incher...

my question is, how good are these

1440p monitors for a PS4? I heard there is a new ps4 coming out for 4k, so is a 4k monitor better for console gaming? (Final fantasy 7 remaster!!!).

The 144GHz, No. Console games have coding to limit the fps in order to control heat and stop any lag from incomplete frame draws.

1440? Has to be supported by the console and the game.

G-Sync? None of the consoles are using Nvidia at the moment.

I wouldn't buy a 4K monitor for a console and I would wait until more details come out before buying a 4K TV.

I wouldn't say useless. If he's connecting his PC to the monitor at the same time it would work. The monitor should be able to support both inputs.

Its simply useless,$700 when you get cut down to 720 30/60fps RARELY 1060p 30ps , cant use G-Sync , Cant get the feel of 144Hz

Please read my first post and it'd be useless for the console, not the PC.

No. Consoles will not game in 4K, they only game in 720p. Also, the max fps on a console is 30. 144hz 1440p monitor will not be used at all but consoles.

They're coming out with consoles that are "great for 4K" but they aren't out yet and I really doubt they will get anything over 30fps.

Maybe I missunderstood, but from what I understand I was under the impression that consoles would continue gaming in 720p but could play media at 4K. Idk, I just highly doubt a counsel could handle 4K gaming, considering the top of the line enthusiast grade gpus can hardly handle it. Even factoring in hardware optimization that counsels have, 4K gaming still seems to be far from reach on counsels.
