Need a new card...

Ok, so my dickhole of a graphics card just died on me. I need to buy a new one so i'd like some new recommendations.

 

I had an ASUS STRIX R7 370 4gb DIRECTCU II (piece of crap)

 

My budget limit would be under $800,

If you're looking to do 4k gaming can't beat the 1080 just don't get a reference card.  If you want to game at 1080 or 1420 then the 1070 is a good fit.  Also may want to keep your eyes open the 1060 is on the way out and may also fit your needs.

What happened to your GPU? How did it die? Too much overclocking?

Note: say that the price is in AUD because people here are going to think you are talking USD. For $800 AUD get the gtx 1070.

LOL my 770 just died as well worst feeling, at least you have money to buy yourself a new GPU.

the PCI power cable inlet to the card itself short circuited so it wont show any display to the monitor

Yeah, get the 1070. It seems good. Meanwhile I'm stuck with a GT 630 :dry:
