I don't think the performance gains would be worth the price you're dishing out, but it's your cash.

Unless this is money to burn, nothing at all. If you feel as if your card is struggling right now or that you want the highest details, go for it. But if not, and you're happy with how it performs now, I wouldn't bother. The $250+ isn't worth the 15 extra frames or the slight shift in graphics to me.

It's hard to make an informed decision when the information isn't even out. Decide once all the specs/prices are out.

im trying to find when that date is, do you have a link? or is it even confirmed?

I'd go with the Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 WF 3X GHz Edition since the new R9's will have a premium on the price and as was already mentioned, the 280X is a refreshed 7970 GHz.

280X should support Mantle, also it will have new non-reference coolers present on GTX700, so I'd get that if it comes at $300.

The 7970/280X will be an upgrade, but not a significant one. The 560Ti is no slouch. But if it's falling below your performance threshold, get an upgrade.

Is your game getting laggy? Is your game not looking good enough? If any of those are yes, upgrade.

Though you can just upgrade for bragging rights too.
