they r the same laptop built off the P650RE. Just pick whichever one fits your budget better. Personally I would get the 980m cause literally more frames > gsync to deal with less frames

ok but battery time and tdp would be a problem...

many suggested me about g-sync because it is a laptop so for definition it is not so good to game like a real pc...I think I would be disappointed in some way in any case in gaming with a laptop...

I'm really convinced about g-sync...because of fluidity also at lower frame rate... :/

Battery life should be about 4 hours ish. I have the P650SG which is practically what you're gonna buy but with a Haswell CPU, and I can use for about 4 hours no gaming in between in class. I don't really think G-Sync will be a serious game changer, I'd rather take more frames + better graphics. And as for G-Sync, both can still work with external G-Sync monitors in case if you are wondering. But I don't think now is the best time to buy as the Pascal mobile GPUs should be out real soon for consumers.

Basically this. There's no reason to give up gsync for less frames. Gsync is only noticable during that 40-60 frames sweetspot where it helps smooth out frames. If you can OC your screen and play at higher than 60 frames on a 980m there is no reason to even need gsync.
