Well, just did a Windows update Sunday and every time i try to start my computer it takes about 10 minutes at MOBO boot screen (has done this before but goes away next boot usually)

But the thing is windows won't start, the windows error check or whatever will crash and not boot, and give blue screen

BUT then after 10-20 times restarting it boots fine...

HDD issue, Windows?, MOBO?

Try doing a System Restore if you have a Repair disc. Also your drives may be malfunctioning.

I always meant to get around and make one of those...

Do you have a Windows install disc? You'll find the same tools on there.

It sounds like a hdd issue.Maybe try to use a different sata port then if that doesnt work,do a fresh install.I would suspect the mobo would be the last thing that is bad here.Maybe u kinked the sata cord .IMO

Is there a way of testing a hdd?
