I am trying to design a mini itx enclosure, but I don't have a mini itx motherboard and I am not skilled at drawing, so I was wondering if I could print out a pdf template showing me the mounting holes, IO panel locations and total board size? If not, how could I make one? Thanks!

In relation to the screw holes, the I/O panel will be in the same spot as it is on ATX and m-ATX.

yes, but just a pdf I can cut out on paper and tape it down an mount it

You are probably going to have to just measure it out on paper and cut it yourself.

It's not going to be easy to find a printable copy of a itx board size and it print to the correct dimensions.

yeah I decided to make one, but I don't currently have a mini itx board and just a PDF file with the correct sizes on it would work, bu I can conclude that doesn't exist

Hey there RGProductions,

Our latest version of Protocase Designer 4.5 includes templates for designing a mini-ITX motherboard enclosure (both with and without PCI slots...in U-shape and L-shape). Again, these are templates that you can customize to meet your exact specifications, so you can design the entire enclosure without having to print anything off (and did I mention the software is free?). I quickly took a screenshot of one of the templates available (again, this can be without the PCI slot, as well), just to show you what it would look like. All you have to do is download the software and within minutes you're designing. It's incredibly easy to use (coming from a marketing guy like myself)...oh, and don't feel pressure to buy the enclosure from Protocase (though that's incredibly easy to do as well), cause you can export your design into a CAD format of your choice.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Good luck with your designing!

-Cameron

I found you guys googling some info for this specific thread. It just gave me the specific link to a pdf for itx enclosure designing.

Ahhh nice!

Yeah we built a custom PC case for Linus a while back, so we've become regulars on the LTTs forums. That way we can lend our expertise wherever, and whenever, possible.

Just out of curiosity, whats the ball park price on an average sized ATX case?

Im growing some discontent towards my current case that my motherboard is just slightly off from its cable pass thru holes.

My current is a CM mastercase pro 5.

I ordered some custom sleeved cables and its annoying that I cant cable manage well in the back, nor are the grommeted holes perfect for myboard.

Cuz if i go custom, ill make it just perfect for my current motherboard.

You are definitely welcome! We know the pains designing can be, which is why we created this software in the first place. If you have any issues, or questions, don't hesitate to email info@protocase.com and we'll be sure to help you out.

Happy designing!

It's really hard to say on here because everything we do is custom. For example, the price would be influenced by the type of material you want to use (aluminum, stainless steel, cold rolled steel, etc.), the material thickness, how many custom cutouts you needed, whether it needs to be powdercoated, silkscreened or digitally printed, etc. We do everything in house (and in 2-3 days), so we can definitely help you design something that would be PERFECT for you and your needs. If you want to message me your email address, I'll get one of our Account Managers to get back to you for some more information.
