Question about fan splitters

So I'm planning a budget build for a friend, and I noticed that the motherboard we are looking at only has one chassis fan header (Gigabyte GA-H110M-A) unless I missed others when looking at photos. So I know fan header splitters are available, but I was wondering: will the fans attached to a splitter still be able to be controlled in the BIOS, and if so will they be treated as one fan or will it know that there are two+? Or will they just run at 100% all the time with no control?

Lenovo Ideapad 720s 14 inch ------ One day I'll have a desktop again...

The motherboard would see both as one fan and control them as one.
