Sli bridge confusion

So when the msi led bridge came out and I brought one to match my cards

everyone on here said I was stupid and there are no performance gains 

and I was practically a laughing stock of the topic

 

so now these new hb Sli bridges are out and there are recommended for 4K up 

and the led (the one I have) is now recommended for 144hz and 4K over the regular bridge

 

so was I stupid in buying it ? 

Does it have better performance ? 

Whats al the fuss about with Sli bridges of late ?

Why do nvdia recommend them over the standard bridge for 144hz and 4K ?

You need more data bandwidth for the more pixels

more pixels = more bits that need to be copied to the other card

So do the led bridges have more bandwidth over the standard bridge ?

From what I know, then the difference will be basically nothing.

But that's the thing. They are not the same.

 

Performance just doesn't matter unless you are using 5k+ panels.

 

Basically, you don't need to sweat anything. You won't have any kind of issues in the near future of hardware.

The hard LED bridges have higher standards for EMI reduction and pixel clocks vs the standard flexible bridges. The connectors they use are the same.
