I'm making a new setup. The gpu choice is so I have some money leftover for something like 1080 ti or a Volta gpu when they come out, I'm not actually gonna be running games at 4k but I do watch a lot of youtube so that's why I opted for a 4k monitor

No point in buying a 950. Thats a lot of money to just have a holdover GPU. If you need something that BAD just get a 1080. The performance is almost dumb. You might as well just run the iGPU until then. And yes, the rest of the PC looks fantastic.

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

We are most likely going to be waiting 9 months for the 1080 ti or flagship AMD card.  The gtx 950 is a waste of money - total junk.  I suggest an RX 480 to hold you over - it will give a good gaming experience and will probably have good resale value 9 months from now.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can get legit windows 10 key for a lot cheaper.  Don't buy it retail, look at sites like G2A.com

Just be smart and get the 1070. It's still one of the best or the best perfomance for your money and you'll be able to game in 1440p an high settings. with the 950 you won't even get 60fps on high in all games at 1080p, that's just stupid. If you really need a budget card, wait for the custom 480's.

Well I can't actually buy anything online right now so I'm trying to make a worst case scenario because I am moving to Canada soon

What nobody is understanding is that I don't HAVE to have the best of the best but I'm trying to make a build that will last like 6 years, I'm also not as picky as some people for resolution, I was willing to game at 720p on my laptop so I will just fine with a 950

If you don't need the best, I suggest you take a different strategy on your build.  Go for mid-range parts instead of high end, they cost a lot less and performance is only slightly reduced.  If you are used to gaming at 720p, go ahead and get a 1080p monitor - you'll be blown away at how much nicer the added resolution is.  There are a plethora of really nice gaming displays under $500 at 1080p.  Don't get a 4k just for youtube...

For CPU, get the i5 6600k.  You won't notice any real difference for day to day use when compared to the 6700k.

For GPU, plan on either the RX 480 (wait for aftermarket coolers - reference designs are shit), or wait for the GTX 1060 which is likely to cost a bit more and be a bit faster than the 480.  Either card will be very adequate for 1080p gaming for several years.

I never said I was used to playing at 720p, I just said I'm willing to go down to that level if I have to, and I'm gonna be editing a lot of videos within the next year or so and I'd rather get an 6700k for that. As for the 4k monitor I'm not to worried about that and I just picked that to have a worst case scenario, I'm most likely gonna get a 1440p monitor

Okay, thanks for your help :)

Would still go with a 480 over the 950. Setting the resolution down is one thing but if you have to adjust the settings to mid as well... the 480 will last you a hell of a lot longer and is a better investment.
