Hello dear fellows,

Today I assembled a new pc, and I installed 2x8gb of G.skill Ripjaws V 3200 mhz. Now, in the BIOS setup, the ram clock is set on 2133 mhz. Can I easily chance it on 3200 or it is a bit risky to do so? First time I try to modify default settings and I'm a bit scared.

Thank you all ^^

I know it's a risk, but the ram name is g.skill 3200 mhz and the bios run them at 2133. So I'm a bit confused...

There's no "3200mhz RAM". What you have is just regular 2133mhz RAM. The difference is, the manufacturer tried OCing your sticks and came to the conclusion that they could reliably be OCed to 3200mhz, given the right settings. And those are stored in the XMP.

So if you want to have it run a 3200mhz, just turn XMP on. Or look at the values stored in the XMP and dial all of them manually, but that's not smart if you can avoid it.
