Hey guys, recently i've been experiencing low fps on cs:go in my laptop, the cpu was overheating at arround 90+ and thermal throttling, so i cleaned the fan with electronics alcohol and it was like new and then replaced the thermal paste but i'm still getting low fps. is there anything i can do? thanks

my laptop hardware:

windows 10

i7 4700mq (turbo boost disabled, tho i got low fps even with the turbo on)

8gb ram

GT 740M

Quote me so I can reply back :)

FPS is always low or you are experincing FPS drops? Make sure CSGO runs on nvidia GPU in control panel, not iGPU

Have you tried limiting the processor states to less than 100  in the power plan menu?

it prevents the cpu temps from hitting the max thermal junction so it won't throttle

i don't know if CS:GO requires 100% CPU utilization

you can always have multiple power plans for different power states: 80 90 100

The cpu is not overheating anymore, but my fps are still very low, even on 1024x768 4:3 i get 57 average
