Hello I had some ideas for a gaming computer for around $1000 dollars for 1440p gaming because my parents recently have gotten divorced and my dad said I could build a new one at his house and I'm trying to come up with one but I'm under to much stress to make one.

Do you need any peripherals, monitor or an OS? Are you solely gaming or doing some other work too?

No, I have a separate budget that and they where ordered all ready and gaming only.

Alright. Ideally for 1440p gaming, you want a GTX 1070 or GTX 980Ti to run most games at a consistent 60FPS at max settings. At a budget of $1000, I couldn't quite fit in a i5 6600K with a Z170 motherboard and a decent CPU cooler but the i5 6500 should be perfectly capable.
