Taking apart the Bitfenix Spectre Pro fans

Daniel0898

I would like to take apart my Bitfenix Spectre Pro fans so I can paint them, but I don't know how and I don't want to break them.

Any help is appreciated, thanks :D

What are you painting? Just the border of them? Fans are designed down to the last mm in every aspect being precisely cut and all the curves are always just for looks, painting them just adds a bit more and could mess up the quality of the fan.

From what I've read after spray painting it we're looking at a 5-10 RPM difference. I'm not worried about it.

I would personally paint them while they are spinning slowly so the blades get an even amount of paint. You don't want to throw off the balance.

Taking the fan apart and putting it back together can be done, but there's gonna be some risk of damage, then there's the lubricant oil, if you replace it with lesser stuff of course it's going to result in more noise and a shorter fan life
