App/ game ideas

What language are you using, and how proficient are you at it? Is this for a class project?

this is not for a class project and i am leaning towards java or c++ i am fairly proficient in both

If you want something visually pleasing, you can go try out the unreal engine to make a game. The Unreal engine interface is not the most intuitive at first, and takes a bit to get used to. 

As for apps, I would suggest building something that interfaces with something you use on a daily basis, and see if you can interface with them somehow using some sort of API.
