Possible noob question: I have a radeon 7870 and I was wondering how OpenCL or CUDA worked with Adobe and how you set the programs up to use either of those features (in my case OpenCL). Is it automatic? How do you know if the acceleration is on?

How much performance increase do you see with these features on? Is one better tham the other?

Thanks.

What programs specifically?  All of CC supports open CL but with CS6 only some do.

GPGPU performance on NVIDIA 600/700 series cards is pretty crippled, a Radeon 7000 card or an NVIDIA 500 series card would be a better choice (or wait for AMD's Volcanic Islands release)

Photoshop CC. Premiere CC. After Effects CS6.

After Effects CS6 can't utilize OpenCL unlike the rest of Adobe.
