Need Help Installing Lubuntu

OKay Lubuntu wants to boot whenever I out in the disc reboot my PC it says would you like to install Lubuntu and a few more install options for dvelopers and stuff. So I click install Lubuntu and then it says something something header for a few seconds, and then it just gives me a dark grayish screen. I want like 15 minutes for something to happen and nothing. I already partitioned part of my hard drive to install it on. So any help please. Oh and I don't know the version of Lubuntu. My buddy gave it to me and never told me the version.
