Hi,

So I'm looking For a laptop for collage next year, it begins mid september.

Currently I'm looking at the dell XPS 15 with i7-6700HQ and 960m link, I also like the Alienware 15 with a i7-6700HQ and 970m link.

I know there rather different but I like the XPS its portability and the alienware is better for gaming.

I will be doing some triple A gaming like Watch Dogs 2 for sure, I'll be following applied informatics.

And on top of that there is the 10 series that might come to laptops soon, so I might wan't to wait for those to come out,but would they come out before september.

I would appreciate your humble opinions.

If there is any thing I forgot or you want to ask, i'll do my best to reply as fast as possible.

Thanks in advance

How about waiting for the mobile 1070?

MSI GS60 Ghost Pro is the best of both worlds :)

Another option would be the Lenovo Y700.

I have a Y50 and it's been a really great experience. No issues whatsoever. It was also really great for the price. $1000 for 860M, i7 and 256GB SSD? Not bad at all. At least that's what I paid for mine, when the 800 series was still the latest from Nvidia.

Alright thank you to all of you who helped me so far but there is one more thing, right now I'm looking at the MSI GS60 Ghost pro that don_svetlio suggested, thanks a lot for that by the way, but now my question is, whether it is worth is to wait for the new 1070 mobile lineup since I don't need my laptop until mid september but I am going on holiday in the last week of august so it would be a bonus to have a laptop by then.

when do you think the 1070 laptops will appear on market and available in the EU.

Well, keep in mind that mobile Pascal is a bit warmer than mobile Maxwell so the GS60 may not get a 1070M revision but a 1065M. 1070M has not even been announced yet, only the 1080M.

oh no thats not it, if I was to be going with 10 series I might not even be able to get the GS60 in this country, for example when I was looking the GS60 up on the websites of stores I didn't have to look hard as there only were 7 gaming laptops, and this is one of the biggest electronic stores we have so even finding a laptop withe a 10 series would be lucky. But anyway so I found that the 1080m is announced for end july so based on that is the laptops with other cards even a thing before september?

They may be announced but they will likely hit the market after that. Also, the prices might be higher on a 1070M or 1060M. You could wait for Polaris laptops but again, no guarantee that it will be affordable or thin
