Skyrim DLC free?

So, I bought Skyrim a while back. The normal version, not the legendary edition. ( It was like $5 vs $20 )

It clearly didn't come with the DLC, even when I'd played it for a short bit.

 

I recently just went back to install it though, and my girlfriend actually pointed out to me that it had stated that I had, "Acquired" the DLC on a certain date under the little list  thing in the library. Now, I know for damn certain I didn't purchase this. I was actually really torn up about it because I didn't have the money at the time, and I'd played it on the Xbox 360 and thought it really added a lot to the game. So... did they just give this out for free or something? I don't know if I can really see that, as they're supposed to be releasing that remastered version soon.

 

Did anybody else just magically acquire the DLC?
