The first one would be an adapter type cable with regular optical to mini optical or Toslink, where the second is regular optical to optical cable.

What is the difference ?

What is the difference between these cables?  I am trying to find one in a local store like the one shown in the first link.  What is #1 called and what is #2 called ?

Thanks!
