Help: Projector based gaming setup?

I was watching some videos online, including one from Linus tech tips, where they setup nVidia surround accross three 720p projectors. Our basement is fully finished, but just has years worth of boxes and storage in it - the majority of which is junk that we just need to go through and get rid of. Anyway, I was inspired by the video, and thought it would be very cool to empty out all the junk and start using our basement for something worthwhile, essentially turning it into a gaming/theater room. I think my current gaming rig is up to the task - i5-3570k OC to 4.7GHz and GTX680 SLI.

Here's where my questions come in - Linus mentioned that you can do this with 720p DLP projectors, so you don't really have to break the bank. I am hoping someone might have some suggestions for make/model of projector that would be good for this type of nVidia surround setup? I've done lots of digging online looking for a balance between cost/value, but there are so many different options and I'd hate to shell out the cash then find out the projectors I picked up aren't suitable for this type of setup. I really want to do this once and do it right the first time.

I am not against purchasing refurbished or used equipment, but again, just want to determine the technical requirements and buy accordingly.

Anyone have suggestions??
