Stock Backplate

When installing a aftermarket CPU cooler (in my case Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo) do I need to remove this stock backplate off my motherboard?

Usually depends on what cooler and and what socket. Personally I hate the mounting hardware of the Evo, but as far as I remember you do not need to remove the stock backplate on LGA1155.
