Hey there!

So I currently love playing Halo 5 on my Xbox One. I have gotten into the competitive scene a little, and it's something I want to continue to do. However, in order to stream, and capture gameplay, I need a better PC. I really want to also play games on it such as Overwatch and CS:GO.

I barely understand pc parts, since my knowledge only comes from the LinusTechTips YT channel xD..

Anyways, here is my pcpartpicker list..

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/33G3Fd

That build is $814... I'd like to lower the cost range from $350-550.. please let me know what I should change in order to make my budget..

Thank you!

Okay cool, so you are saying just to buy all that, and wait for the gpu? Gotcha, 'ppreciate it... will the cpu be able to handle the gameplay capture? Or is that just an issue with my budget?

Admittedly, the pricing was the reason but the CPU should handle it fine anyhow. Use OBS to capture the gameplay.

You can build in advance and just use the iGPU until the RX 480 hits.

Would using an external capture device such as an Elgato put less stress on my PC than using OBS (when streaming through xb1)?

And thank you for the responses

All of LTT I see people recommending the 480... But it hasn't even been released yet. Doesn't anyone want to see benchmarks?

yes, but there are firestrike benchmarks suggesting that the 480 will be at r9 fury/gtx 980 performance, while being at the price of a gtx 960/r9 380/380x. even if it ends up underperforming, it'll still be a great value for the money.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Thanks! I'll look into it!

The graphics card I put in there is a bit of a place-holder until such time as you can afford a better one or the RX 480 is released :)
Or the RX 470
Or even the RX 460 :P

But it will definitely work well until then :D

I appreciate the help..

So Ive kind of accepted the fact that with this price range, I need a microATX board. I've also decided its better to not get a optical drive since i can just put the OS on a usb or something..

So how's this look?

Or is your build still better? Im choosing AMD just cuz it seems to be the cheaper option

You could buy used pc parts to cut down your costs even more... I think I have a windows 10 education code laying around. Would you like to have it? Will you not overcloock it, dump the cpu cooler aswell...

Sure man! I'd appreciate that a lot!

And ditch the cpu cooler? So just use the one that comes with the cpu?

I would also recommend a r470. Cutting down your budget from over $800 to $300-350 is a hard mission...

A lot of ppl have been recommending the r480, r470.. are they the ones that come out June 29? I saw someone talking about it

If you are on a really low budget, dump the cpu cooler. You can maybe run a small overclock, but not anything special. (with the stock heatsink)

Gotcha, thank you!

Btw, whats your opinion on my choice of CPU vs the one Sydlexic Deity chose (his pcpartpicker is above)? Which is more cost efficient?

That looks fine, although the case you've chosen does not have usb 3.0, but your mobo does.
Also you probably wont need the cpu cooler, you can just use stock cooling.

It's up to you to go with the intel or amd.

The intel build i shows you gives you the latest socket so you can upgrade to kabylake when it comes out if you want to, and you also get ddr4 ram.
Basically higher spec for longer.

Obviously going with amd now is cheaper... but you might feel that you lost out with their new architecture just around the corner...   Oh wait just kidding. AMD isn't cheaper anymore

I've got the intel build down to lower than your AMD one

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/jkjccc

(Also, by getting the price cheaper - we haven't actually lost out on any performance. if anything it's gone up with the better video card. Only the manufacturers are different. Just letting you know so u don't have to worry about it :P )
