I just need general help but for my specific case.... if that makes sense ....

General help is pretty much impossible to give in a forum post. There is a reason recording schools exists.

You need to be atleast a bit more specific.

Do you wanna produce electronic music or do you want to mic up actual instruments?

And if you want to record instruments, what is it your require help with?

I am trying to do a cover and a certain part of the song sounds emptier than it does in the real version. Car radio is the name of the song. This is the link to my cover it is right after the 2:50 mark.

I'll have to start out with saying that you're the firts person to get me to listen to a twenty one pilots song in a long time.

Well, your cover sounds "emptier" becuase of the drum sample you have used.

While you do have the sound of a bass drum, your sample doesn't have any resonance to it. That is what creates the hollowed out sound.

Twenty One Pilots are amazing dude xD

Sorry in advance.. this is the first cover I have ever done so I'm not guud with terminology...

So when the music get all intense and stuff I should increase the resonance or is that for the whole song?

How would I go about doing that?

BTW the program I am using is Reason Essentials...

Twenty One Pilots never really did anything for me, but whatever floats your goat.

I can't tell you if you should increase the resonance for the whole song. That's for you to decide.

I would try to increase it for the bit you pointed out, but I can't tell if the entire song would benefit from an increase in resonance.

I have never tried Reason Essentials, so I can't really comment on that program.

Personally, I use Reaper as my DAW.
