I am watching a lot of twitch and it was really smooth on my phone which I now sold.

The odd problem is that my PC appears to be a worse job on decoding twitch stream. I get a lot of frame drops on a variety of different streams on max settings ( I have a 50mb/s contract and usually get 40+)
I have a 3770k @4.6GHz so this seems kind of weird. Any idea how to fix this.

Using firefox with ublock, addblock and the NASA night launch theme.

Could this be an issue with twitch(I don't think it is the stream as it appears with arious different high quality people)? My phone was fine though. Do you have any idea how to fix this? I tried using chrome and it appears to be like a perceived 10% better but still annoyingly rough.

If you have Windows 10 you can try to start a stream via one of the twitch app available in the app store.

They usually need way less resources. I personally use/like 8stream but there are couple others to try out.
Unfortunately none of them is directly from twitch.

Otherwise you could try with a different browser. (IE, Edge, Chrome)

I have a 3770k @ 4.4GHz and no problems even in the browser, but i also don't use Firefox in general.

I also don't think that your CPU is the problem here.

But there is a twitch app? Or am I in the wrong windows store (never used opended, considered to open or even looked at from an angle). I will try that one first an the your 8stream. Thx so far. This sounds like a good idea.

Yes, there are apps that are named "Twitch", but to my knowledge there is no app from "Twitch Interactive, Inc." like for example the offical Android app.

To my knowledge all Windows twitch apps are 3rd party.

I might have some IPs or so blocked and I do neither know away to find out why I can not use the store really. Do you know what to launch the app file with? I supposedly got the data for the app from another website acts as a 3rd party distributer but the data format is ... weird.

I have never tried to install a Windows App without the Store.

Not sure if that even works without the developer options.
Maybe you have blocked the Store with Windows 10 anti spy software.

You can always try to open a twitch stream in Edge and see if you also have frame drops there.

And if you don't, you can create a new profile (or use a portable version) for Firefox and look if you have framedrops in a vanilla Firefox.

I think I fucked up my browser somehow. Edge is known for low performance, kinda. IT plays back at a ocksolid 60 fps in extraordinary high bitrate. Lets see how I can solve this altogether.
