ASUS Z97-PRO GAMER 4 RAM dims no boot

Hello everyone,

memory has gotten very cheap where I live so I purchased additional memory for my PC.

This PC has:

Intel Core i7 4790K

16GB DDR3 HyperX Savage (I want to upgrade it to 32GB because I can)

ASUS Z97-PRO GAMER

nVidia GTX 980 Ti

be quiet! Straigt power 10 600W Gold+

and is cooled by a NZXT Kraken X61

So when I try to start my PC it only boots with this strage memory configuration ...

But when I put in all four dims, I just doesn't want to boot anymore ...

Here is a close up view of my memory for you guys :)

Please help me... this is very frustrating to me.

Thanks for reading =)

Either one of the slots is bad or you were sold faulty memory. Try placing the dimms you already had in the other two slots and leaving the first two empty: if it doesn't boot it's most likely one of the slots that is broken. If it does boot, the memory is probably defective.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

I literally went through all possible configuratins. All RAMs are good as it seems

All A slots are like dead ... The B slots are fine though

I found the error. I fucked up pretty bad. I share this so others don't make the same mistakes as me.

When you put a NZXT Kraken on your motherboard use the damn spacers! Otherwise you might demage your mobo and shorten circuits like I did.

To resolve this issue I isolated the demaged parts and used the spacers. Don't be like me. Look at you AIOs manual :D

Here you can see the demage!
