xbox 360 controller weird bug

so i have this xbox 360 controler, wich i use for my pc (have never even owned a 360) i only use it for racing games. i use the rigth analog stick to shift with. iv'e been having this weird bug where it shift gears by it self. so i'll be driving along in 4th gear and then it will just shift to 7th by it self. i have allready opened it up and clean'd the inside of the stick, but that dident help. i think its a bug, but i don't know. help pls
