So I was at a doctors office today and was waiting in the lobby using the free wifi in the building. It make me think of something that I really don't know. I know you ISP can and will monitor you internet at your house, but can you they monitor a business internet?

I'm not talking like a book store or anything. I'm talking about a business like doctor's office or a metal health clinic. I was talking to the doctor and he said that they can't because of hipaa. Is this true?

If the ISP wants to do it they can.

Hmm technically you can, but a big business would make monitoring nearly impossible to get away with, let alone get in. In the case of the doctor's office, they can easily monitor it without the doctor knowing (assuming the doctor knows nothing about IT that is...)
