The Build:

My reason for upgrade is to replace my 5 year old x79 board and upgrade to something with a little more power. I also wanted to expand to an NVMe SSD and needed a board which could support 4 PCIe slots with SLI GPUs. After purchasing the parts for the upgrade it was time to begin. I had a theme of Black/Blue that I wanted to keep so I needed to do some painting. I painted the NVMe drive black and blue and the big red E on the motherboard to a nice blue as well. The I/O Shield needed painting so I sprayed that with black paint. After all the painting was done I let it cure for a few days before moving on. I already had a PETG loop in my old build so I first had to drain and disassemble that before moving on. Once done it was time to assemble the parts and then begin bending for the PETG loop. ***It was at this point I made the INCREDIBLY stupid mistake of not testing all the parts. I assumed the RAM would be fine but little did I know that would cause me to have to drain the loop and disassemble it to find out the one stick of RAM on the far left was bad. Thankfully there was a local PC store which happened to have the same brand of RAM I was using and I picked up a 2x8GB kit to replace the bad stick.*** After filling, draining, fixing, and refilling it was time for a quick leak test. After it passed a second time with flying colors I was done and could move on to doing the software portion of the build.

The End:

I still have some cable management to take care of with regards to cable combs however those are still being shipped so they didn't arrive in time. I will add more pictures once those get in and all the cables are cleaned up nicely. Temps are about 15C lower on idle compared to my last loop which only had two thin 240mm rads and bad fans that couldn't move air. I'll be doing benchmarks over the coming days and updating this post with those results as well.

Yah I know, it bugs me but I spent several hours trying to get it as close as possible. I would have torn it all out and done it again but the new tubing I have is a tad too small for the silicon insert and even after trying to sand it, it's still a pain to get in there, it took me 45 minutes to get it in twice for two bends towards the end.

Yes, routing the tubing is really hard, you did a great job nevertheless
