Transferring OS

Go to solution Solved by MoonlightSylv,

Download ProduKey and write down the Windows key on a piece of paper. Then download the ISO and put it on a flash drive.

Hey,

So I just purchased a ssd to put in my old laptop to give it a bit of a boost. I intended on transferring the os using the Samsung software that came with the ssd by plugging the ssd in place of the optical drive, but I did not realize that the optical drive was connected with a mini sata connector so that's not really an option. Is there any other way to transfer OS without having to buy a sata to usb connector (I'd rather not have to wait), like is there a way to figure out the product key and just fresh install from a usb stick?

thanks,

Bgibbz

Will that work even though the laptop was updated from win 8?
