I currently have a Latitude E4300, and I would like to have a restore disk that I can use for it because I can't get the fingerprint reader to work at all.

Since I got this used, I don't even have one at all. So if anyone has access to a Windows 7 restore ISO for the Latitude E4300, that would be fabulous to have.

P.S. I did find a site that SAYS it has them, but the image costs money that I don't have.

If you are legitimately licensed (as you would be with an E4300 with the Windows sticker on the case), go onto your favourite bittorrent site, and search for "Dell Windows 7" (its not piracy if you have a legit license!).  Preferrably get an image with SP1 already installed to minimize your pain (it will still pull 1-1.5gb of updates!).  Use PowerISO to turn it into a USB stick, and set it up accordingly.

Upgrade it to Windows 10 before the end of July, even if you don't use Windows 10, simply to ensure that you'll be able to move to Windows 10 if you desire to in the future.  Wipe that install and do a re-install of Win7 if that's what you want to stick to (although Win10 is so much better!).

BTW, are you locked out of it because of the fingerprint reader?  I'm not sure what the connection is.

I'm not locked out, but I haven't been able to get the damned thing to work. I've tried Windows XP up to 8.1, and it has never worked. I was hoping that an OEM image with all the drivers and such already there might get it to work.

Yeah if you're out of warranty and otherwise don't have access to Dell support, then you'll have to do torrents to get the OEM media.

Are you asking about the fingerprint reader itself per se?  Or the laptop itself?  I always found those fingerprint readers to be useless, a gimmick.  IIRC, on my D830, I had to download software directly from UPEK.  Never worked very well.  I even ended up removing the reader from my D830 physically (with replacement parts!).

Technically the fingerprint reader? Driver's and such are apparently installed, and the biometric thing in control panel is there, but I can't enroll fingerprints or tie them to my account to log in with them.
