Basically right now my rig is two to three years old and I'm looking to upgrade it. Here is my current rig: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/sPX9TH

Since I build this PC, I've upgraded to dual monitors and right now my PC is somewhat struggling to keep up.

I don't really have a budget as I'll be saving up money to upgrade parts I just want to have a general idea of what parts I want to upgrade. Nothing too expensive though unless it's the GPU, which in that case I would need help also upgrading the CPU to avoid bottle necking.  Minimally, I want my PC to play games at 60+ FPS, while being able to handle some background programs open like Spotify or Chrome with YouTube playing.

Right now it's struggling to have Overwatch and Spotify open at the same time, but that could just be that Overwatch is still not optimized yet. I'm thinking of upgrading the CPU, but I want some opinions.

Any help will be appreciated.

I'd get a 6600k first (or a 6500 depending on your budget). Note that you'll need new RAM and a new MOBO too.

The RX 480 would be a great GPU upgrade.

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

Sell the motherboard, and the processor. Go Intel.

Video card is going to need an upgrade if you plan on playing anything at 60 fps.

Don't commit to a GPU until the RX 480 comes out, and it's well reviewed.

As per the perfect intel chip, I'll leave that to the intel fanboys.
