What temps should I get with an i7 6700 + hyper 212 Evo?

happyleonardo14

59c under load
30 idle

I think 59c it's a little high because a months ago with an i5 6500 I got 44c maximum under load.

In this case I can't see any difference between an intel stock cooler and a hyper 212 evo

I have a chip with similar power and a 212 EVO in there. With the fans at a literal minimum speed, I never go over 54c. (more like 40 with max fans. It also depends on your ambient temperature).

That said 59c is nowhere near high enough to worry about. Even 80 degrees is fine.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Sounds about right. My i5-4460 has a Hyper 212 and gets to about 62C under load, 27C idle.

Don't worry about temps so much :)

As long as you don't go over 85 you're not cutting into the CPU's lifespan.

Worrying about temps is best left to overclockers.

right now the temperature is 29c as soon as I open a normal application like skype the temperature goes up to 42c and drops again, is that normal?

Yeah, it's typical of your CPU switching power states (basically, when it's not being used it clocks down to save power, but sometimes a program will use it for a fraction of a second so it will clock up just a bit).

It's like someone having their mind turned off watching TV, then having to use it for a second because they misplaced the controller xD
