Router hunting

Go to solution Solved by tewynkoop,

This is just me personally but from reviews that I've seen about the OnHub rated it poorly against other routers that it was trying to go up against. One that it similarly priced but is rated with better performance is the Linksys AC3200.

Another option (depending on how hands on you want to be) could be getting cheaper router and putting an AP on the network for better performance. For example a TP-Link AC1200 and Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR or UAP-AC-Lite

Either option should be plenty powerful

Hello all! So, my dad was looking for a new router because our old one has stopped working properly(please don't ask about old one). Now, he was looking for a new router, and he stumbled across the google onhub router at best buy for 179 dollars. Now, I was wondering if there was a better(faster, more reliable are my main considerations) router for less than or equal to 179 dollars. Thanks!

Honestly, the problem is not the coverage, but rather the acces point. It's really finicky, but we don't actually need a second access point, rather a reliable/strong single access point. I'll look at the linksys.
