Replacing GPU fan

GPU: Point of View Nvidia GTX 550ti

History: The stock fan on my GPU died [some Chinese DC Brushless 3000 RPM DC 12V 0.3A fan]. Went and bought a generic xyz named cheap ~90 mm fan and replaced it (unsottered the original cable from the stock fan to the new one).

Problem: The fan has gotten obnoxious and it's the loudest part of my system even at idle.

Question: I'm thinking of replacing the no brand name fan to a be quiet! Pure Wings 2 80 mm, but the question is will this fan be able to handle the cooling (it's only 1900 rpm compared to the 3000 rpm original fan) and if the voltages are different will it make a difference?
