Ok, so I've got my desk, and behind it and the monitors is an AC unit. I plan on getting a Cherry MX Red keyboard soon, also. With that said, I was looking at dynamic mics to isolate my voice better and get rid of background noise. I should mention, my main purpose for it will be Skype, streaming, and YouTube. I found two great contenders at an unbeatable price range:
  1. Shure PGA48 with XLR Cable:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TTQM8Z6/ref=crt_ewc_title_srh_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

  2. Shure PG48 with XLR Cable:https://www.amazon.com/Shure-PG48-XLR-Cardioid-Dynamic-Microphone/dp/B0000AQRSR/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1466062624&sr=8-2&keywords=shure+pg

My question is, what's the difference between these two? On the spec sheet, they're the exact same thing. The only difference I can tell is appearance. Also, if you think I'm making a wrong decision on mics, I'm open for discussion. I'll be partnering the mic up with:

  1. Behring Xenyx302USB Mixer:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EHILV4/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

  2. Pyle-Pro PMKS3 Tripod Microphone Stand W/ Extending Boom:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002PAZZ9E/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

The only difference is the frequency responce. Both have a little bit of a boost around 5khz, but the 10+ is a little different.

Also, be careful with the Behringer mixers. I have an 802 and the first XLR channel died on it with the second making noise if its above  -0+

Also, if you're at a desk, go with a boom arm like this instead: https://www.amazon.com/NEEWER-Microphone-Suspension-Scissor-Stand/dp/B00DY1F2CS/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1466102313&sr=1-1&keywords=Mic+stand

Makes it a lot easier to get the mic closer to your mouth without taking up floor space or getting in the way of your chair.

I had one of those, but saw someone say that since there's no shock mount, it'll pick up vibrations and whatnot. Is this true?

Vibrations will be picked up from the ground if its a tripod stand, and from your desk if its a boom arm with clamp. The only way to stop either of those is with a shock mount.

https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Microphone-Shockproof-Senheisser-Audio-Technica/dp/B00ZU9PMJK/ref=sr_1_16?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1466103660&sr=1-16&keywords=shock+mount

That is a good start, but you really can't get a great shockmount without getting a large diaphragm condenser microphone, like an AT 2020.

My personal setup is the AT 2020, Generic shock mount (Like this one, https://www.amazon.com/TH106-Universal-Microphone-Condenser-Anti-Vibration/dp/B01D42PQCW/ref=sr_1_3?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1466103774&sr=1-3&keywords=Nady+shockmount ) into a Behringer 802, then a Behringer UCA 222. I like the setup and get many compliments on the sound, so I have no issues with recommending the mic. I don't recommend the mixer though.

Given the fact that I have the ac behind my desk and monitors, would you recommend an AT2020 or a dynamic mic like the PGA48?

The AT2020 is my favorite budget mic. I recommend that mic.

And the quality control on the Behringer gear isn't that great. So it will be hit or miss if the one you get is good.

Probably the AT 2020, but you're going to hear it on both.

If you plan on recording or streaming with OBS, use the Microphone noise gate so that it cuts out the AC unit.
