So i got this rig that i built last year, its a good one, however it was built on a low-mid budget. Because this budget (800 dollars), i chose to buy the HAF912 because it was the only good and cheap case, however i never liked it completely, i always thought it needed to have black interiors and a window (i know there's the advanced edition, however it wasnt available by that time. Now that I got some more money to spend, i wanted to upgrade it to the Scout 2 (a case that got everything i want), however i was thinking that maybe I was wasting money for no reason. What do you guys think? PD: sorry for my english :P, here are some pics of my rig.

I forgot, painting my case and putting a window to it costs more than selling it and buying the Scout 2.

How about you think about what else you can put money into or if you can put the money into a savings account for later down the line, you will not get much benefit from upgrading that case, the scout is a pretty decent case but maybe you should get an ssd or something like that, you will like a performance boost way more then a change in appearance. Maybe get a better cooler?

the only advantage you could get from a new case is better front IO or better cooling (however I doubt that your cooling is of any problem with a HAF).
If it is worth it is up to you if you want to spend money on something witch is almost completely esthetics's.

the haf 912 and a few others were great back a fair time ago, which meant lots of people liked them...which means they got a good rep and more people bought them.
my friend has a elite 430 and it sucks compared to a nzxt source 210 elite, it doesnt have usb3, it doesnt have all black cables, it has 3.5in bays in the front for mounting a floppy drive (fine mount a card reader but atleast make it 5.25 with an adaptor or dont have a 3.5 bay), it has less hhd mounts, it has no cable routing holes, there isnt enough space behind the back panel. the 210 looks cleaner, the 430 doesnt have a way to mount a 240 roof rad without work.

my other friend has a storm enforcer, not a bad case but has its issues, you cant get a 8pin atx plug through the atx hole, it has a cheap flimsy bit of metal for an ssd cage, there still not enough room to route cables (for my liking) the horizontal drive bays show all the wiring behind them, it looks like a woodlice, the front fan constantly gets clogged with dust......i guess thats my friends fault, hes since unplugged the front fan because as it draws in air though the grill its noisy, the 45* angle front panel fittings get loose over time due to cables pulling down on them....not worth £80.

you could get a big case like this, yeah i know its some not regarded brand but actually look at the spec.

my specs are: i5 3570 (not k)

gtx 560ti msi twin frozr II

Corsair TX 850

Seagate 7200 rpm 500gb HDD

Kingston hyper x genesis 8gb

Asus p8h77 v le <---- this one is a must change

I think my specs are good enough for playing any game on high. I'll be upgrading my gpu when the new radeon gpu arrives to my country (Peru) or when i get the chance to order it from US. Maybe I should change my mobo,  I will buy a hyper 212 evo too and some noctua fans. However what actually is bugging me is the fact that i cant see my components because my case doesnt have a window and also the steel color looks ugly to me.

Take a look at one of those Cubitek Tatoo cases. Cheap, has a huge window, and cools decently with a moderate layout inside.

Why is the mobo a must change?

A 7950 would be a good upgrade.

How about the Corsair 750D, it has the black interior that your looking for and a great window display. And the best part is its only $159 USD..you can't be that, you get the best of both worlds.

Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

I cant, that case is not available in my country :P
