Hyper 212+ backplate

Hello, LTT Forums! I was at the sidewalk sale this Saturday and got very lucky. I was able to pick up a CM Hyper 212+ for $5. However, the backplate for multiple sockets is missing! I've searched around for just the backplate but I haven't been able to find anything.

So, does anyone know where I would be able to pick one up? I've sent and E-mail to Cooler Master but have yet to hear back from them. Thank you!

Aside from contacting CM, you could try hunt around eBay for a broken one? Or even put a looking to buy on CL.

i'm pretty sure the best way is to get onto cm direct, or just see if anyone you know has the same cooler on a different socket

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is CM does offer replacement parts for the Hyper 212 on their store website. The kit comes with the mounting plate and all the rest of the accessories. Basically everything but the heatsink itself. Here is the kit.[/url=http://www.cmstore-usa.com/hyper-212-plus-evo-accessories-kit/]

The bad news is that the kit costs $8.99 though it does appear to have free shipping. Since you paid only $5 for the thing in the first place, you may not consider it a good deal to pay more for the accessories than the heatsink itself.

I use this heatsink currently and love it. I don't think you can get better air cooling at the price point and benchmarks have shown it outperforms many much more expensive models. For only ~$14, I'd still consider it a steal.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do, who knows maybe CM will ship you a backplate free or for less than the kit itself.

Thanks a ton! If I don't hear back from CM soon enough I'm juts going to pick this up. I still find it a great deal.
