Do premium DVI cables make a difference?

Sup guys,

I have a Dell something something 23" 1920 x 1080 monitor powered by a 7950 via a DVI cable. In some games, like Farcry 3, it basically looks like a scanner line is running up and down the screen (I don't know how else to explain it, basically a not so noticeable line that runs from the top of the screen to the bottom). I don't think it's my video card as it should be able to handle Farcry no problem, it could possibly be my monitor because, well it's a dell, but I'm wondering if maybe it's the DVI cable I'm using? I'm using one of those cheap ones that's basically like a VGA cable that came with the monitor. I was 90% that since DVI is a digital signal pretty much all cables would have the same quality, but I'm not positive on that.

Do you think a crappy DVI cable could be causing these weird lines in some games?

Me: Yeah I just really can't get my H220 working again, I've tried everything that was suggested in the forum.

Brian (Swiftech Support): Hmm, have you tried slapping it?

Screen Tearing is what it sounds like. Your fps is going above your monitors refresh rate. Turn on V-sync and it should fix the issue.
