OK so I have up to $400-$450 max I would like to keep it around $350 though and I am looking to upgrade from my fx8350 I play a large variety of games gta, league, csgo, minecraft, etc...

What would be a good cpu and mobo in the $350 range?

This is probably your best bet, although I would recommend waiting till Zen.

Well maybe a 4790K + a nice Z97 board.

So that he can re-use his current ram to save a littlebit of cash.

Allthough i´m personaly not realy a big supporter for upgrading from one EOL platform to another.

But still, if the budget is limmited then i think something above would be the most ideal upgrade for now.

Of course it will be aty the $450,- price range then.

If anyone has any better idea´s or disagree with my point of view.

then please let me know.

Skylake. i6 6500/6600 + Gigabyte B150 HD3P + 8/16gb DDR4 Ram (always a dual Kit)    ------ ( around 320 bucks?)

Or if you want to OC: i5 6600k + AsRock Z170 gaming K4 (Or Gigabyte Z170X UD3) + 8/16gb DDR4 + Thermalright Macho HR02 Rev B~ ( 400-450 bucks~)

I would not waste money into the old Haswell platform, as it's almost not really cheaper, but worse (up to 10-15% slower, consumes more power, needs stronger cooling, still DDR3, missing the full bandwidh M.2 and USB Type C.

In my Opinion: It was already a Mistake to chose the FX platform in first place. You did that, to save money.

Do NOT try to save money, by buying an older Haswell platform.

Take Skylake, don't go any compromises, and it will last you longer.
