Asus ROG GL502VY

I am looking for a new gaming laptop. I was intrigued by the new asus ROG GL502VY. I saw that it had a 4k option in the specs, but when I went to the store I was disappointing to see that no 4k option existed; only FHD. On amazon I noticed the release date was pretty recent so I'm wondering if they plan to ship a 4k option later. If so, when?

4k on a laptop is pointless stick with 1080p

because gaming 4k on a 980m wont get you the performance you'd expect
