The NEET Machine

Hi all, I decided that this needed a thread cause I made it a year or 2 ago and still haven't put up a build log of it yet.

 

This Machines name Is NEET because and I quote: " NEET is distinct social policy category from that of freeter, the classification for those working low-wage part-time jobs, although in practice thousands of young people move between these categories (i.e., from the status of non-employed young person to that of a part-time worker and back) each year. "

 

Basically, this is an extremely budget oriented build (Well, sort of, see below for more).

When I first built NEET machine, I used new as well as scavanged parts, such as the case and hard drive.

 

The original purchase was this: (Bought on newegg 2 years ago:)

- GA-78LMT-USB3 (AM3+)

- 2x 4gb sticks of G.Skill DDR3

- An EVGA 500w PSU

- And the AMD FX - 4300

 

Scavanged:
Diablotek midtower (Crap)

1TB HDD from an old pc (Actually decent)

 

Of course, not the best build, but I'm not rich, so it is and has been working fine.

 

Then, when I wanted to join the PC Master Race in gaming, I decided that a Graphics Card was in order.

So, I picked up an XFX R7 260x from Best Buy (Price Matched to a cheaper Newegg price)

 

Overall, this PC came to around~ $350 USD

 

Then this past year, I got a new mechanical keyboard and mouse, The Corsair Strafe RGB, and the Corsair Scimitar, Both excellent

 

Now ~ $540 USD

 

SO, in total, I spent (Disregarding the monitor/tv because it was a gift) around 540 to 550 USD on a decent build running in 1360x768.

 

And soon, I hope to upgrade to the R9 480.

Well, I got a tax refund and decided that my fingers needed some godlike reaction time, as opposed to a sticky membrane keyboard so.....
