5th wire? Corsair m65 cable repair. help!

 I snapped the cable in some point so im replacing it but the other usb cable only has black white green and red. Im interested in what is the fifth wire in the corsair m65 rgb mouse cable!

I just connected every wire to the coresponding wire and it works without the fifth cable, but im still interested what is the fifth wire!

it probably isnt cous if i connect the wires together the fifth wire is like not needed, btw black is ground!

that fifth wire is typically a shield ground/chassis ground. in cabling unsheathed wires are typically circuit grounds or chassis grounds. and since the black wire is the circuit ground that leads me to believe that the unsheathed wire is shield/chassis ground
