Since you have windows 10, this may not work but its worth a shot...Also download the windows 7 64 bit version just like you would if you had windows 8

Also make sure you unblock the scp files (the main ones only)

again its worth a shot

I don't know about PS3 controllers, but it's easy for me with a PS4 controller. I'm guessing it's the same setup.

Install either of these programs, which will make your PS3 controller be detected as an Xbox 360 controller, which Windows 7, 8, and 10 are already designed to work with:

Input Mapper: https://inputmapper.com/

DS4Windows: http://ds4windows.com/

If your controller is wired, then just plug it in, and use one of those above programs.

If your controller is wireless, then you'll need to have a bluetooth adapter for your PC. Onboard motherboard bluetooth is usually very bad, and a USB bluetooth dongle is recommended.

To connect your controller via bluetooth in Windows 10, click the notification button on the right-side of the Windows taskbar, then click Bluetooth, from the settings options at the bottom of the notification panel. Windows will open a window that automatically begins searching for bluetooth devices, at which point make the PS3 controller go into connectivity mode. Windows will find it, and you then select Pair, from the Bluetooth window in Windows.

Now the device should be paired, and will automatically be detected by those above linked-to programs whenever the controller is turned on, and it can now be used like any other controller.
