Amazon issue - question

Two things before: sorry if this is the wrong section and I know for the most part people can only speculate but it's still appreciated.

 

I preordered the GTX 1070 Wednesday from Amazon, and got the confirmation email. I popped one day shipping on it and that was that, delivery date for Monday and ship date for Friday.

 

Come late Friday afternoon all of my other parts for my build have shipped out and yet the 1070 has not. I thought okay, probably going to ship tomorrow with overnight but just to be safe I'll call Amazon. This is where it gets interesting: the first person I speak with says "it appears were awaiting authorization from your card issuer. It will ship once this is done." I knew this wasn't true as I was using a gift card with auto auths but whatever, I'd call just to be safe.

 

Card issuer proceeds to tell me funds have been taken out for it and APPROVED, but "pending" for Amazon to take them. I call back and the next rep tells me whoever you talk to was full of shit, everything is on track and it'll probably ship tomorrow (Saturday) for Monday. Well guess what it still hasn't shipped and date changed to Tuesday. I call back and I get the same authorization response. I explain for 20 minutes how it isn't my banks fault but they don't budge. So anyways I call the card issuer back blab blab blab they say it's approved. I call Amazon back, they say they'll send in a ticket to the billing team.

 

SORRY for the book lol but just want to explain it as best I can. I tried googling it only real response I could see pertaining to me is gift cards don't have a billing address so it can cause issues and to set a zip code which I did so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Also, my bank said it was approved so I don't know. Nobody else probably does but maybe can help with some ideas. Is it just late to being shipped? Blah.

I once had an order that got stuck in shipping for over 3 months. I called them and they said it had been shipped so I just cancelled it got my money back and ordered it again and it showed up the next day.

God, I hope that's not the case. If I don't see it shipped by Monday, I'll be canceling it but I have to wait 7 days for the funds to return when I cancel it so I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.

Just made a small purchase with same card, already set to ship out. Meaning you're probably right about stock... disappointed they allowed me to pay for one day shipping thinking I'd get it Monday
